3 Ways To Style A Midi Skirt

by Elizabeth Flading

Being a sustainable fashion brand, we are not too hip on fades or passing trends, ie disposable fashion. One transcending style that has caught our eye this season, though, is the tasteful midi skirt. This design first became popular in the 1940’s and revivified in the 1970’s, so naturally it is recycled back into the fashion scene some 40 years later (as so many classic styles are).

From Audrey Hepburn, to our fellow sustainable fashion advocate Emma Watson, this style spans decades

Why do we love this staple piece? Because of its functional length and flattering shape for all sizes. One of our themes as a company is to design versatile, timeless pieces for women to wear season after season, and the midi skirt is just that. Below, we’ve put together 3 looks featuring our Juniper skirt to give you everyday style inspiration.

Keep it Casual

For our first look, we envision wearing this at the farmer’s market or picking up some new reads from the neighborhood bookstore. Pair our Juniper skirt with your favorite graphic tee (or vintage band tee) and throw on sneakers or sandals for this down to earth look. We’ve topped this outfit off with a jean jacket and tote for on-the-go ease. It’s understated cool, and you’ll be comfortable all day. What’s not to love?

Accentuated Waistline

For our second look, we make a timeless fashion move by adding a waistline to flatter your figure. We chose a colorful, embroidered belt as our accent, but any belt you have on hand will have the same effect. If your going with a pop of pattern like us, it’s safe to go with a solid on top (not saying mixing patterns can’t be fabulous). By adding this extra piece, you add another dimension to your outfit while making the focus on the littlest part of your figure.

Minimalistic Chic

The focus for our third outfit is to keep it simple. Classic midi skirt, blouse, oversized sunglasses, and you’re set! Since the emphasis is the straight lines of the outfit, it creates a sharp and versatile look. To stick with the minimalistic feel, go light on the accessories. From the office to errands, you’ll love how you look and feel in this outfit.
