CINCINNATI, OH – Sustainable and ethical fashion brand lur® apparel announced today that after two quarters of remarkable growth the brand is now the fastest growing women’s ethical fashion brand in the United States. The two year old brand is now available in over 400 stores in North America.

“When we started this brand we did so hoping consumers would choose sustainable fashion over fast fashion. We never expected this incredible reception,” said co-founder and CEO Mark Heiman. “Over the past few months we’ve added over 125 stores in the U.S. and seen our revenue double when compared to last year.” Not only did the brand see growth in the number of new accounts, it also saw significant reorders from existing accounts.

The company attributes a portion of the recent growth to releasing 15 new styles as part of its Fall line and adjusting the sizing to be more appropriate for the real women the brand appeals to. The new sizing and styles appeal to women of all ages and body types looking for casual, contemporary style and fashion.

Over the next three months the company plans to roll out a line of new fashion accessories to augment the popular in-store styles and fuel additional growth. The accessories, mostly scarves, are made from fabric scraps generated in the company’s manufacturing process.

“We are constantly working to find ways to make our business more eco-friendly.” said Heiman. “And in this case not only are we finding additional uses for our recycled materials, we are reducing waste from our manufacturing process while creating high quality, attractive products,” he continued.

The new line of products are also the first to be handmade by indigenous Guatemalan women working with lur® apparel’s non-profit partner Miracles in Action and CECAP, a vocational center in Santa Cruz, Guatemala.

“We are especially excited about these new products because they will increase our social impact in the communities where we manufacture,” said marketing manager Tonya Mitchell. “They’re made from 100% recycled materials just like our apparel, and connect women entrepreneurs in Guatemala to a marketplace here in the United States. We hope this line of products is the first of many that directly benefit the entrepreneurs that make them by reducing poverty and increasing prosperity.”
